The Y is a working parent's best friend. When school is out for winter or spring break, teacher work days, or other one-off holidays, the Y is in with all-day, fun active childcare. It's a win-win. There's no "I'm bored!" from the kids, and you don't have to stress while you're at work.
School's Out Camp is an all-day, fun, active program for school-age kids. We follow the Asheville City, Buncombe County, and McDowell County public school calendars. Our full-day program is from 7:30 a.m. to 5:30 p.m. Registration closes five days before date of program. Sign up for single days or a full week. Cost: $40 day/$200 week and applicable registration fee ($65 per family for the school year).
School's Out Locations
North District consists of Asheville City, Beaverdam, Hall Fletcher, North Buncombe, Weaverville. Hosted at Beaverdam/Youth Services Center
Erwin consists of Johnston, West Buncombe. Hosted at Johnston.
South/Roberson District consists of Avery’s Creek, Estes, Glen Arden. Hosted at Avery's Creek.
East/Owen consists of Black Mountain and WD Williams. Hosted at WD Williams
Reynolds Districts consist of Bell, Fairview, Haw Creek, Oakley. Hosted at Haw Creek.
West/Enka District consists of Hominy Valley, Pisgah, and Sandhill. Hosted at Sandhill.

YMCA School's Out days follow the Buncombe County and McDowell County public school calendar for holidays and teacher work days.
School's Out days come at no additional cost to YMCA of WNC Full-Time Afterschool participants in Buncombe and McDowell counties. Part-Time Afterschool participants are included in School's Out days with the exception of the weeks of Winter Break and Spring Break. YMCA School’s Out programs are closed the week of Christmas (Dec. 26-30). School's Out Camp have a $65 registration fee, then $40 day ($200 per week).
Registration is now open for School's Out dates for the 2022-23 school year.

The YMCA accepts childcare subsidy vouchers for our Buncombe County and McDowell County locations.
