As summer comes to a close, the Hendersonville Family YMCA is looking back on a season filled with fun and fitness for all. This summer the Y:

  • distributed 9K pounds of fresh, healthy produce at no charge to 3K people at 12 mobile food markets in Henderson County
  • engaged dozens of summer day and overnight campers in sports, arts and crafts, science, and nature exploration
  • provided more than $40K in financial assistance to local residents
  • hosted several community blood drives and senior wellness workshops
  • taught dozens of swim lessons and water safety classes
  • welcomed more than 50K members, program participants, and guests for swimming, pickleball, basketball, fitness classes, Parkinson’s programs, cancer survivorship groups, social clubs, and more
  • gave more than 5K visitors to Patton Pool a fun, safe place to play, cool down, and exercise in the sun

“The Y exists to serve the community, and we are thrilled that this summer has been such a success,” said Katrina McGuire, executive director of the Hendersonville Family Y. “Our goal is to provide a space where everyone can be healthy, whether that’s spending time with their family, getting access to healthy food, or learning to swim.”

You can still make a splash at Patton Pool through Labor Day. For more information about the Hendersonville Family YMCA’s programs and services, visit ymcawnc.org/hendersonville.
