This interactive meeting will discuss what is the "autism spectrum", ways to engage individuals on the spectrum, and how to create a safe and engaging environment to ensure every individual has the opportunity to fully participate in Y activities. Share experiences with others on a similar journey at this monthly Cancer support group at the Woodfin YMCA. The group is a safe and supportive place for all-genders, free to community. Meets on the first Monday of the month from 6-7:30 p.m.
This is a 4 week (8 session) series focused on the Tai Chi form White Crane Encounters Snake, also called Silk Reeling Tai Chi. Aids with balance and joint mobility. Cooking Matters is an evidence-based cooking program designed to alleviate childhood hunger by helping parents and caregivers develop skills for shopping and preparing healthy meals. Each participant will receive weekly recipes and a grocery list so they can follow along and cook the recipe together in class from the comfort of their own kitchen. Groceries will not be provided, although our recipes will have focus on affordability. Classes will be held Wednesdays 5-6 PM from October 12-November 16. Learn more and register here.
