Build Confidence in the Water with YMCA Swim Lessons
At the Y, we teach youth, teens, and adults to swim, so they can stay safe around water and learn the skills they need to make swimming a lifelong pursuit for staying healthy. Y swim instructors are nationally certified and are trained in CPR, AED, first aid, and oxygen administration. Formal swim lessons provide life skills that could save a life and will benefit students for a lifetime.
We are now offering private and group swim lesson options to meet your needs during this time. Please visit our reopening guide to learn more about how we are working to keep everyone safe.
Swim lesson participants benefit from each session and learn important life lessons and good sportsmanship. Students begin with and build upon skills they are ready to learn, helping them to celebrate their successes, build self-confidence, and enjoy learning to swim and water safety. We also have spots available for our YMCA of WNC Piranhas Swim Team. The Piranhas is a year-round competitive swim team offering coaching and technique instruction for all ages and abilities. It aims to give every member an opportunity to improve swimming skills and achieve success at their level of ability, from novice to international competitor. Learn more about the Piranhas here.
